It pays to be fair in life. Why did I say so?
I have seen what have become of people who didn't play by the unwritten rules of life when they went out of their ways to play God in the lives of their wards handed over to them to impact on their lives. They ended up being consumed by God Himself because our God is a jealous God.
Whenever you are dealing with people, be very conscious of the fact that you have a God-given opportunity to represent God in that endeavour.
Never you take things for granted moreso, take people for granted. It backfires, it always does.
So this is beseeching you my dearest friend to look well before you leap in life. Life is doctored aside being governed by unwritten rules. They come to you only when you have that spirit of intuition and native intelligence. To some people, it might be from another aspect of knowing.

First of all, let me start by apologizing for my eternal absence. Seems like a simple topic to write on and about, but, nay, it is not. Everything we have achieved in life has been as a result of the manner of choices we had the good old common sense helping us achieve them.
From your kind of friends to ability to have the spirit of discernment working for you which I know is a divine thing to bestow on anybody but on one condition - you must ask for it.
So simply put, you are the choices you make in life. Always be properly guided so you make only the best choices that would end up making you whom you have always wanted to be in life.

The Disadvantages of 'Second Chance'

There is a catch here, I mean with the chosen title of this long-overdue writing from my stable. First of all, I have to tell you that the title came about after my time listening to Whitney Houston's latest album. She still sounds her old self but a bit weak. Good a thing, I'm not a critic of that genre of the entertainment world but I have been an ardent listener and fan of the old lady before her avoidable fall from grace. The other day in my status comment on Facebook, I wrote that we should all hold on to the grace because once it is lost, we stand displaced and disgraced. But now, the notion of Second Chance(s) has cast a bit of doubt on that claim. One can now eat his/her cake and have some of them back it seems I am saying.
Now, don't you get carried away with any of these assertions. Something gives once you fall from grace to something everyone finds disgusting. You should count yourself lucky when you suffer a fall and get back on your feet once again. Now you will agree with me that this whole thing has a ring of confusion to it. My drift here is the fact that we should always strife to maintain space on high moral pedestrian. No one is a saint or an angel anyway, hence my push for going out of our ways to make sure we keep the light of our lives burning on top the table for the world to see.
Whitney Houston did nothing wrong in going out of her way to get a man of her dream in spite of the age-difference. What went wrong with her is not the burden of this write-up but we can always learn from her travails and thank God she was able to get back to grace.
The disadvantages of 'Second Chance' involve among other things - loss of respect from people who use to see you as their hero, that initial grace and the fact that you are never the same after your experience. It is on the inside. Some people who came back from fall from grace end up becoming such ambassadors of the cause of their fall from grace so that other people would learn from their mistakes.
Please pray, don't be a victim of second chance.

There is nothing like a smile beamed into your face like that of an innocent child whom you just met and the child falls in love with you.
Have you noticed the thrill that comes with receiving a smile from a child you never knew from the word go? It is shocking as much as it is re-assuring. It sets up a fire inside of you and eats you up even when the entire world is sitting on your shoulders.
I could remember the day I was simply downcast due to issues at place of work I couldn't help understand. Not even my beloved friends on facebook could take away the gloom cast all over me with their funny jokes and comments. When my comfortable office became haunting, I decided to step outside and get some fresh air. As soon as I had walked out into the street through the entrance gate of my place of livelihood, a child of four years left his mothers guiding hand and ran into me. I was both shocked and thrilled at the same time. Shocked because I wasn't expecting such show of love from anyone moreso, a child of four. Thrilled because such show of emotion was exactly what took away my gloom. When I looked up at the mother of my new-found friend, she beamed an encouraging smile and I gave the youngman a befitting swing up into the air. He screamed hysterically in joy that I was forced to bring him down but he wouldn't want me to stop. I obliged him even as his mother cautioned him to let 'uncle' have his 'peace'
I couldn't but smile and kept on smiling as I exchanged pleasantries with the my new friend's mother. She told me he son is not always like that. Hmmm! She maintained that I must have been a great friend of children to which I answered in the affirmative.
When I looked back at my new friends, the boy kept on waving at me departing figure and I waved back.
I learnt a lot from the child. It's not a bad thing to smile even when you are down. No matter the situation in which you find yourself, always spare the world a smile.

Eschewing the Hate Syndrome

I have spent my time researching why people 'hate at sight' To start with, 'hate at sight' simply means hating someone you never met before but might have heard one or two thing(s) about him/her. You don't need to know much about that person. All you are interested in is in hating the poor dear man/woman simply because they are not your type - class-wise and more.
Why would people go out of their way to hate for the sake of hating?
My research tells me they are just empty personalities. Something about that person upsets you. Perhaps, the person appears stronger than you, more pretty than you, more educated than you are, more successful than you will ever imagine. As soon as you sight this unlucky fellow (by your standard), you just do everything humanly possible to make him/her feel sorry for ever coming close to you.
In the heart of the person you are vilifying, he or she might not even look at you in that regard, but some sensitive people who notice hostility fast would try to get out of your way or do something to actually get you blow your top.
Now, you never knew much about this person other than the fact that he or she has something you can't or might have. It all boils down to envy. ENVY! This social disease has eaten deep into the hearts of many that they don't see what they are doing as sinful.
Have you bothered to ask yourself if there are things you stand to learn from the 'hated one' if you could be more appreciative of God's grace radiating inside of that person when you get close eschewing envy?
Life has taught me that it is not always those you are that close to that give you all the help you need in getting on in life. Sometimes you run into a stranger in a bus and something engages the interest of you two and consequently, friendship is born and this sort of friendship is even sweeter when you begin to reap the bountiful blessings coming form liking people the way they are irrespective of whether they are of same status in life with you.
Please my dears, learn to be down-to-earth and stop turning away angels from your life. You never can tell one, so learn to be more engaging and receptive socially.

Never Too Late To Learn

What I have observed in the course of my studying various behaviours of fellow human beings is their ability to un-learn good characters.
A friend I was chatting on Facebook the other day told me he is tired of being a nice guy. According to him, it doesn't pay at all. He is saying that he is better off being a bad guy or better still, a scorpion in human shield so that he can afford to give people who mess with him the pay-back treatment. I was not shocked by his outburst. I simply asked him to clarify his claims to me. He told me how he was of good help to a friend when that friend was in need and how now that he is in need, that same friend has refused to help him out.
Waoh! Now, that is unfair to say the least. Why are people becoming this awful nowadays, I asked. It is simply unpleasant to forget someone who helped you when you needed help more than you needed oxygen. It sends jitters down ones spine and chills the mind when you remember such ingrate.
My point here is that we should not stop from being nice to people simply because one of them or a few more have paid you for the good deeds done them in bad coin. It has been happening even before God considered your creation. In the bible, we are told of ten men down with leprosy who received helaing from Jesus Christ Himself. They all left for their various homes jubilating, and it was only one out of ten of them that had a rethink that caused him to go back to Jesus to give thanks.
I told my friend that I have had such experiences in the past but I'm yet to stop reaping from the peace of mind it gives me whenever I have been of help to someone even when that help comes in form of a heaalthy smile into someone's eyes.
So my friends, it is never too late to learn to keep up with letting go of the good in us. Thank God you are found worthy of help by anybody out there. As God have made you important to be of help to one of His own, you don't think He'll let you lack?
Remember the cliche that says 'givers never lack' It is truthful, they never lack. You might be in lack but somehow, God sends you His help. Think about all that you have achieved in life and tell me the number of them you achieved in the midst of plenty.
Have a good rethink on this and learn to spread help to all who need them.

A Reason To Be Thankful

"When the world gives you a reason to be sad, stare them in the face and show them you have a thousand reasons to be happy." This is a saying that many of us must have read over and over again and have come to assimillate its real meaning.
Life is known to every adult mind for its zig-zagly nature when it comes to what comes our way. Many atimes we have bad things come upon us and by the time we are able to wear-off there shocking after-effects, we have lost sight of all the good things our Maker have always assailed out paths with.
The implication of the above is the fact that we have given the world the picture that reads loud: "there is no cause to be happy at all in life!"
We start wearing long faces and trying to let everybody know that we have a lot weighing down on our shoulders as well as wearing our minds hollow.
Something happened to my isp on Monday thereby scuttling with my contribution in my place of work - a media firm. The pressure piled up and the internet just couldn't get better. Then I decided to visit a cyber cafe on Tuesday to salvage the situation, but that happened to be my achilles heels. The speed was absolutely terrible. That was when I couldn't take it anymore. I voiced it out on my facebook page that I was going through so much stress. My friends were surprised that soemone of my background could loose it too and assailed my status with their worries and concerns for me.
Thank God I realised on time that someone out there believes in what I'm trying to achieve through this medium (my blog) hence, I changed my status to "I'm on top of my game." Now I have given my friends cause to be happy with me too.

Always Say Your Prayers

Many atimes, we allow the vagaries of life to induce us into coma while we look on in chronic bewilderment with the way life has been treating us and refuse to look inwards to figure out a reason -at worst - to thank God in our daily prayers.
I have gone through many experiences handed down to me by life - my existence, that I have come to realize albeit, not painstakingly, that with prayers, a human being irrespective of your creed or religion would walk through the valleys of death, hunger, denial, sorrows and all what-nots and remain steadfast. Even when you stumble and remember that you have the Almighty one always by your side, you will simply connect with the high heavens to get things going your way.
Most times we have experienced delays from the Heavenly Throne of Grace but I want a reader of this short text to always be steadfast in prayers. That is the key that opens God's heart and ears to your supplications.
You don't have to wait till you are undergoing pains and frustrations in life before you communicate with God in all humility. Doing that would amount to laziness and simply gives you out to God as a very selfish creation of His.
In every situation you find yourself in life, give thanks and always say your prayers.

I Want To Listen To Myself!

Like you might have guessed wrongly, I am not in love with hearing myself talk not to talk of caring to see if the sound of my voice has changed for the worse or better.

I am actually opining about the innermind and inner voice - the one that is called the guiding angel or conscience - the Silent One. Depending on your belief, you have the right to accept my drift this morning as I'm in the spirit to listen to myself.

Most times I have had the honour of listening to my inner mind and have come out feeling on top of the world simply because God helped me to be an obedient creation of His whenever He sends His angel to guide me aright.

Unfortunately, this innermind plays tricks on people because of the fact that it lacks the ability to be loud hence, it always ends up being pushed to the back. That is the reason we hear such things like; "Oh my God! Something told me to do it this way and I refused to listen! and, 'Had I known?"

Please save these for the real time. Real time being the time you set aside to listen to whatever your innermind has to communicate you. It is not only pastors that have the exclusive reserve to have and enjoy Quiet Time. Do yourself a favour and pamper yourself to a quiet time.

Whatever it is that is giving you sleepless nights, take time out and rummage over it (them) in your mind and figure out those ones your innermind is telling you to do. Take note of them and take heed.

Funny enough, those things your innermind is telling you are usually the things that would cause you to say...."over my dead body!" So you see why the innermind is not an interesting burden to bear? Yet, the innermind is your best friend sent to you from above to keep you human. When you say over your dead body, the innermind is given a red card from the referee of your life which is you.

Most times, we are simply stubborn if only to show our traducers that we have the mind to show them the stuff we are made of. Looking inside of you, you'll see the innermind feeling uncomfortable and getting ready to leave you alone as It does not dwell in a dirty place called an unforgiven and stubborn heart.

Just the other day, someone wronged me and I said in my mind that if only this guy would apologise promptly to me, that he would be forgiven. Unfortunately, he is yet to do that to the point that my mind clamped up on him. Resentment! My innermind screamed.

I battled the innermind of mine to a standstill until I did what He required of me. That was when I secured my peace back. All the while the battle raged on the inside between the good guy in me and the bad guy in me, there was no peace for me to the point of feeling weak in the early hours of yesterday until I had reconciled with my traducer within me first before giving him a call and everything was settled just like my innermind had suggested.

Phew! I am now free because I listened to my innermind. You too can try that today.

Learning To Be Humble

It is obvious that humility is a term that does not exist in our vocabularies anymore how much more having to show acts of humility in our daily living.

In Nigeria today, when a young man stumbles on fortune, his new status becomes a symbol of intimidation and a clothe to asphyxiate everything that use to show humility in his once humble life. The newly acquired status becomes a symbol of everything disgusting and disrespecful and, heaven help those who don't know the young man has 'arrived', his new status would be shoved down your throat and surely be made to stuck in your anus.

In a society devoid of humble youths, what is the future of that generation that the yester-gone generations would most likely fall back on when they are old to get the joy from knowing their youths are humble? Humility comes with respect and when humility is gone, there goes respect too. What fainty trace of humility that would be existing and coming in cracked patches would be selective humility.

So, how does a youth born in this age of arrogance and disrespectfulness do to ensure he/she is as humble as they should?

Start by re-orientating yourself. In other words, learn to stay clear of the crowd. Nothing corrupts easiest nowadays as joining the bandwagon all in the spirit of 'belonging'. That's crap! The effects of peer-group pressure is what every parent should look out for in their children - be they teenagers or youths.

Another way of getting to acquire the art of humility is by learning to show compassion to those who deserve your compassion. They might be the elderly ones and the handicapables.

Thirdly, you can learn to use such words as: please, thank you, you are welcome etc.

Another way is allowing yourself to let other people air their views on anything that is a topic for all. Be more of a listener than a talker. Learn not to fall in love with hearing the sound of your voice all the time.

On the fifth lane is compelling yourself to smile even when you have no course to be smiling. A tough one? Nay! Someone would definitely be blessed seeing that there are people out there who still smile in this age of global financial meltdown.

And the last and definitely not the least is prayers. Learn to say your prayers to God whenever the evil of arrogance comes to take away your humility from you.

Now, don't you think you are already improved by reading this piece? Lookout for that change in you and pray yourself into being humble for through that way, you stand to live life like a child who is free from worries and other vagaries of walking your own side of the STAGE.

Now you have been wondering how you survived the month of February after all your posturings and pessimistic sneerings on life. Are you surprised that you were able to make it into the month of March? After all that February forced down your throat, you are here, breathing and looking forward to making it to the end of March. To some people, this is a very long month - what with the five sundays its harboring? To others, its a month of more accomplishments and unusual favours. To me, it is a month of marching forward to greater things that life has always have in stock for us.

Come out of your smudged thinking that there is no water inside your life's glass. What about those who don't have a glass at all and they are still smiling and believing God? You are complaining that things are pretty tight because of the economic global meltdown and because of that, there is no peace in your life. What you have presently is far better than what people who didn't make it into today have crammed up in their dead specimen. That you are still alive shows God's supremacy and the fact that His reason for creating you is yet to be made manifest. Instead of bemoaning your fate and weakening your relationship with God, why not you go down on your knees and remind Him to remember His words that everything that comes out of His mouth is more important to Him than the existence of the planet earth. Pray and pray always and God's ears would be opened to your supplications.

My prayer for you in this month of marching forward is that you would end up eating your words of anger directed towards God in His time and share that kind of testimony you have always yearned for. Yes, you can!

Have You Discovered The Reason?

From my interactions with people of lately, I have come to understand that there are still souls out there who are yet to figure out the reason(s) why they were created in the first place. It has become a big challenge to me when it comes to sitting down and making time out of my tight schedule to chat such challenged people up so as to help them arrive at what has been staring them in their faces since they learnt to think for themselves. Thank God, I have stopped from feeling disturbed by people who call me up to ask one question or more that has been bothering them even at odd times. I have come to accept that I have a calling to administer free councelling to those in need of my kind of ministration.

I am sorry to have been so busy for two weeks now not to have written on anything on my blog.

Coming to helping people discover the reason why God in His infinite wisdom have them created is topic that I have done my best to espouse using succint expressions even in my contributions in the youth-biased magazine - YouthAge Magazine, where I handle the motivation column, I have always made it clear that there are a lot of things one can discover through fasting and praying.

You might be wondering why there are still people who are yet to figure this approach to their challenge(s) out, but it is real and constant that there are people who don't know about the efficacy of prayers and that of the heaven door-opening key of fasting sessions from time to time. Not every person walking the surface earth knows that there is need for prayers. The thinking is that they never asked to be created by God, and therefore, God should be up and doing and meet His responsibilities by them. Hahahaha!

I use to be scratching from pillar to post, thinking that I am on the right road not until I went down on my knees and asked God certain salient but pertinent questions regarding my sojourn here. When He answered me, I was baffled because it meant reversal of career-path and more. Accepting this God's verdict became another seemingly insurmountable challenge. But here I am today, testifying that I have tasted God's help in getting me walk the right path He construed for me on the day I was created. I am happy to announce to you that I have figured out His reason for creating me. And this is one of them.

In other to get down to this figuring-out of God's reason for you, the answer is simple. Go on your knees and wrestle with God until you are sure you are hearing His voice. Also ask Him to make sure that when you hear anything, It's going to be His voice and not some devil playing on your spiritual imaginations. Mind you, there is spiritual manipulation we all know as witchcraft out there, so you have to ask specifically for a tell-tale sign when God is revealing His reasons for creating you.

It is from there that you will be certain about who you are and what you have to offer humanity. Whatever it is, please, don't look down on it, simply outstretch your arms and accept it with every sense of humility and contentment. Thank God it is in the bible when you are adviced not to forget your days of humble beginning.

Now, go and do some knee bending excercise because you have to show God some seriousness and you'll surely receive at the end of the day.

This title came to me this morning while i was cleaning my house. So permit me if it sounds kinda corrupt. So what? You are not male enough to own up to your mistakes. You are not male enough to use the words in this sentence..."I am sorry."

To be honest with you, it behoves on you as the man and head of the family to always own up to your mistakes by using the three letter sentence already stated above. It strengthens your marriage and waters the garden of your love-life. If you are already with children, they are all ears and watching as well as learning from the arrogance that most fathers are known to exhibit in their dealings in their homes.

Your wife deserves all the respect she can get from you as through that, you are communicating your children the true spirit of love, respect for a woman and peace in the family. Peace to our homes is a veritable line we ahould all involve in our daily prayers and supplications to God Almighty.

And I say it again, be male enof to own up to your mistakes by saying sorry. Only real males will understand my drift and imbibe it in their daily family life.

Be humble as everybody in your home knows you are the head of the family already even when your wife is challenging your authority.

God works in ridiculous ways that tell that He is a clown whom we find too unbelievable to believe. Why did I say this? Alright, you know the story of David and Goliath or don't you? How David - a youngster defeated Goliath - a well-trained warrior and a giant with nothing but stone is a story in the Bible we know too well. Now tell me, isn't that funny? Can you believe that of all the exposed places on Goliath's body it is only on his temple that the stone flung from David's hunting catapult could hit the giant and send him to an early grave?

Why am I talking about God's unbelievable and mock-worthy ways of showing His supremacy in situatios that concern us? I'm trying to point out to you that God can use anybody anytime to see you out of that situation you have resigned to fate on, waiting for the end to come. Or why do you think He used a murderer like Paul to propagate His kingdom more than any other? Why did He use Moses to teach Pharoah His ways albeit the hard ways. God can kill anybody to prove a point about how dear you are to Him.

Do not despair for He is aware of your inner yearnings and cries at night. Learn to believe Him no matter who He's using. Learn to listen to all opinions, even when they come from your children, siblings, wife, husband, neighbours and your pastors. Sometimes a mad man has a message for you from God. Just pay attention and pray him to lead you to achieve His will for your life.

Most times, friends have complained about one witch-of-a-boss in their offices who are bent on ruining their peace of mind by always taking on them whenever anything goes wrong - be it their own fault or another person's, they would be haunted and punished for another person's mistake. Heaven help them if the mistake is theirs, they stand to loose a part of their monthly income via surcharge.

Now the issue is how to cope with such hater-bosses in your place(s) of work. They put you always on the edge and tell everybody in their boasts that they want you out of job. Hmm! A sadistic boss? God help you!

Yes, it is only God that can help you out of your emotionally tasking situation brought on you by a non God-fearing boss. The first thing you must do about your boss and your situation is to investigate how he/she got to his/her position of authority. This is necessary considering the fact that some people attain certain heights in life through mediocrity and nepotism. After you have concluded your investigation, go on your knees and talk to God about your situation. Every king's heart is in God's hands. Your boss is not yet a king and can always be disciplined by God without much fanfare and appeal from Him to turn a new leaf for your sake. Just go ahead and pray and if you can afford to, add fasting to it.

I can assure you that either your boss is booted out of his office or he is demoted. He had messed with God's own and must be alive to bear the consequences.

Quit complaining about a fellow human being moreso when it is Jehovah Jireh that secured you your job. Who is that person, a human being with his/her flaws, that will take your joy away from you? Whatever the pressure and burden the antagonism of your boss might have brought you, tell God to bear them on your behalf as you are aware of His strength to keep you even when the storm is raging.

Now, this problem of yours has brought you closer to God and you will see yourself reaping more and more from God's goodness towards you.

Keep trusting Him and the pressure will definitely shift and become to portion of your boss.

Ooops! What does pessimism mean again you might be asking yourself now. It means in my summation, as having all the wrong thought-process on everything in life. Every time you look at yourself moving forward, all you see are nothing but hedges along your path. You spend your day(s) wallowing in negative thoughts about your success and your being. At the long run, your health is suffering and not your health alone, your pockets too and your social and moral life as well.

Anyone who comes close to you is a suspect for mocking you. If they smile, it's you they are smiling at and their smiles are nothing but mockery of your position in life. If you sight two persons gisting away, then it's you they are gossiping about. You see darkness everywhere you look at even when you are under the sun. Every little thing irritates you and every noise around you grates your nerves.

Gosh! Your life is in quagmire and you'll end up a nerve-wreck in no distant time. So what must u do to avoid being pessimistic even when nothing seems to be going your way? The answer is simple. Go on your knees. When you get on your knees, say the following short prayer and you'll have peace descend on your shoulders rather than your burdens descending and eating you away:

Oh lord, come into my life and take absolute possesion of my entire being.
I confess that I have been carrying these burdens

Any time people come to me with questions on how to become motivated in life and remain motivated for as long as they live, I always ask them to look inwards and then look around them. Perhaps by doing so they’ll see what will inspire them, see what is in them and what motivates other people around them.
Do you know you can be motivated by the smile on the face of a baby? The beauty of your surroundings can magically motivate you to no end. The evil look on the face of your tormentor can inspire you to get on your knees and seek God’s help in stopping him in his track. The venomous nagging fits of your wife could make you a better person. And now this, the failure streak dodging your life could give you the break you have been yearning for.
Mind you, motivation comes from God alone. You might say someone motivated you into becoming what you are, but I strongly believe that such a person is His answer to your innermost yearnings.
There is a difference between one becoming motivated and having the vision beforehand to keep his/her ambition burning. Some people jump out to say they have become motivated without actually knowing what their passion is. It is like a handicapable non-Christian who was dragged to a crusade ground and fortunately for him, he received instant healing. He doesn’t know where the power that healed him came from until he reaches inside his soul to ask himself some pertinent questions concerning his newfound status as a Christian believer. Take for instant; a young man came to me to tell me how confused he was by not knowing exactly what the motivating elements in him were. I asked him what he had passion for and he said football. I then asked him what his problem was and he told me he does not believe his break in life would come through professional football.
I realized this young man was having doubts about his talents and how those talents could put him on the right track. He lacked the strength of inner mind that would make him see what would be of him in the nearest future. You find out it is the fame and fortune that professional football would offer him that motivates him. He was not called to become a professional footballer that is why he was having doubts about his ability to break even.
Now, how would a reader of this article discover what motivates him/her? Very simple! Start by figuring out what interests you most. This you do by looking inwards, by searching your mind to find out those talents of yours that would make a difference out of you among your generation. I know that everybody is blessed with one talent or more. Whatever that talent is, never you look down on yourself or start by building roadblocks on your way to achieving your dream in life. Nothing comes easy but if you have the push, you will definitely surprise yourself by coming out a success even in an industry that has a lot of comers and achievers.
Your motivation should be anchored on the belief that when you get started, you will stand when others are sitting, when they stand, you are bound to standout, and when they standout, you’ll outstand them. Motivation is all about your understanding of who you are - your weaknesses and your strengths. This involves how to conquer your fears and achieve success. Then look around you and discover what inspires you. This could be a person or an object, thought or an idea. Once you do that, you lap on to that which inspires you. Your vision comes in handy here bearing in mind that vision without venture is a marked failure and a vice (weakness). You make bold by reaching out to those who have the experience you need to start off on the path you have chosen. Ask the most important questions even those that would make out you are a numskull. Never mind, it is said that no knowledge is a waste.
At this point, you have set sail and your vision is what keeps you going. You learn to make bold decisions that might even surprise people into telling you off and advising you otherwise. It was Oliver Wendell Holmes who wrote: “Greatness is not in where we stand, but in what direction we are moving. We must sail sometimes with the wind and sometimes against it – but sail we must and not drift, nor lie at anchor.” The message in this quotation is to keep busy and focused. No matter the challenges, hang in there. Nobody I tell you will carry your cross for you. Not even your parents or siblings and best friends. They have their targets and set goals and wouldn’t ever want to add yours to theirs. When you look behind to push your responsibilities to another person, you are either lazy or irresponsible with no sense of will and purpose.
If you want to remain motivated, you must learn to keep keeping on. Learn from the snail if that is what you are. When it meets with danger, it rolls in its eyes and when the coast is clear, it keeps going albeit at a very slow pace, but progress it is making. Money might be what would make a snail out of you, learn to talk to people and tell them your needs without making a weak person out of you. All you need do is impress it on them that if they invest in you, there would be good profit from their investments. Learn to be business minded and eschew selfishness. Your vision will definitely bring you pain, but you must learn from Naomi Wolf who wrote: “Pain is real when you get other people to believe in it. If no one believes in it but you, your pain is madness or hysteria.”
Do your research well and work out the modalities before going to anybody with your proposal. Dare yourself and be the success you have always dreamed of. Dreams come true of course!

Passion Killers!

Before u jump to conclusions, I’m not about to talk about what goes on in a relationship. I’m here to bring to your notice certain deadly passion killers you’ll always have to be wary of.
The passion I’m talking about here is the one you have for whatever you once believed in then or now. And now these passion killers are after your set goals. These passion killers could be self-inflicted or spiritual. But with prayers one can overcome them.
Now, these are some passion killers that I have come to observe overtime.
· Words without action. Every time you have something in the pipeline, so to say. Nothing gets to take off. They take off only in your mind which builds words for you to keep deceiving only yourself. Match your words with action even when you have seemingly insurmountable challenges. Just get started and you’ll see things taking shape.
· Being busy without purpose. Everyday you keep busy and have no set goals. With prayers you’ll discover your God-given purpose for being created and still alive. So many people are ignorant of the fact that God has a purpose for their earthly existence. Don’t just keep busy to stay alive, find your rhythm in what gives you that sense of fulfilment and you’ll see you have stumbled on your reason for being here.
· Personal giftedness without spiritual power. This is where many people get it wrong. Take time to go on your knees and seek God’s clues that you are on the right path. You are free to choose a path to walk in life but with God’s support, you’ll excel more than your competitors.
· A Lack of Passion. Whatever you are doing and you lack the proper energy of vision and passion will surely collapse. Only what you have natural passion for will thrive and give you the break you have been yearning for. Complacency should be avoided.
· Short-term thinking. Your vision must be fashioned out to outlive you. Any vision you have must be well thought-out. Don’t bring in fear along your way and don’t tolerate the traditional ways of doing things. Research other ways starting with the reasons why traditional ways have failed others in the past.

Cheer up and take these seriously, you’ll surely excel.

I woke up this morning with a head-splitting headache which I couldn't trace its source. It really unnerved me to the extent I became almost irritable. My anger was written profoundly on my face. When I came outside and into the street, I was seeing other angry pairs of eyes. People were exchanging hot words and all that. I said a silent prayer in my mind and asked God to take away the headache. It was after my prayer that a voice advised me to smile despite my health condition. I did but with so much pain that I knew I ended up looking awful. I persisted until a passerby smiled back at me. That was when I realized I was giving the world a good smile. By the time I got to my office, the headache is gone.

Waoh! I'm so relieved though I'll still have to go see my physician.

Darling, it pays to smile. A lot of our pains and burdens persist because we want the world to know how much we are suffering. No way! Self-pity is the worst thing u can do to urself. Quit that drama, it is no longer fashionable as it is no longer helpful.

Smile at the world instead and you'll experience what I experienced this morning.

Your Lifestyle Can Inspire Others

Do you know that the way you live your life could be a source of inspiration to the people around you? Even to those who don’t know would be so impressed by the aura of your life that they end up dreaming of replicating your lifestyle in their lives. This I call character cloning.
So know it today that you are candlelight kept on top the table, which drives away darkness from wherever you find yourself.
How will you live this life of confidence that inspire others? This you can achieve by showing contentment and eschewing envying those who are better off. Always wear a smile on your face. This helps to brighten the inner mind and keep it open to inspire you to tap from your inner strengths in energies you never believe you have in you. It is equally advisable to go out of your way to show kindness to people you believe you are better off. Now look at it this way. What do you think this world would be like if everybody offers a help to people they are better off? Life will be more meaningful and inspirational.
Learn to give honest advice to people who believed enough in you to come seeking your counsel. It makes people accept you subconsciously as a pillar of support. I know of a couple in Nigeria that offers counseling services to couples in bad marriages and those having evil children. They also pray for them and their families so that their labour will be sanctioned by the almighty.
People are inspired more easily by people who show confidence in all their approaches to life’s varying situations. It is like success. Confidence exudes sense of self-worth and contentment. Therefore, it attracts interest from people who intend to live their lives the way you do. They will come to you asking questions when they know you don’t have everything in life yet, you are confident. There are many people who get inspired when they look into the eyes of confident people, therefore, show confidence in the face of life’s perfidies and you’ll succeed in making yourself a hero and a source of inspiration.

Don't Look Down On Yourself

In my chat with a young woman who came to me with a question bothering her mind after my presentation in a motivational talkshop last month, I have come to realize that certain expressions need to be explicitly interpreted for easier understanding.
This young woman probably in her early twenties came to me to ask me what I meant by, “acting like I’m the best thing to have happened to humanity”, “whether it does not imply adorning and adopting peacock’s plumage and approach to the rest of humanity?” It might have sounded easy to you but it is not quite easy, as I earlier had thought. This young woman had misinterpreted and misunderstood the lesson in acting like the best thing to have happened to humanity to mean becoming proud and arrogant.
I was quick to point out to her that the teaching in the expression is simply telling you not to look down on yourself no matter what you are going through in life. No matter what life is forcing down your throat, don’t ever act or take it to be the end to your very existence. You must always come out cheerful everyday with the best of expectations on your mind that your today will definitely be better than your yesterday. Every day comes with its possibilities and opportunities, and challenges. Your duty it is to pray God to provide you the clues for discovering opportunities and meeting with and as well as defeating their ever-attendant challenges. With prayers, you are more than a conqueror. Think of the wisdom in Melanchthon’s quote, “Trouble and perplexity drives me to prayer, and prayer drives away perplexity and trouble.” Or this from Edward Young, “In every storm that either frowns or falls, what an asylum the soul has in prayer.”
Equally I gave her a scenario. Among people who live around you, some of them are happy seeing you facing difficulties even when they are related to you, while some would be there giving you moral support that will keep you going amidst your long-sufferings. And this is where the challenge comes in with having not what one is doing and being expected to face the world with smiles when there is no cause to smile. You suddenly loose your job and as you have no other source of income, your financial tap stops running. Your friends start leaving in their droves and those who are around you start looking down on you. They remain around you to show you how their lives have become better than yours. This you’ll discover when you ask for financial help from any one of them. Though you’ll say I’m generalizing, definitely, there must be some exceptional friends. All these will make you feel unloved, used and appear useless to humanity.
So you see, this is where you are most likely to catch my drift. When you have been made to eat the humble pie by your fair-weather friends, don’t let them know you miss them or that any one of them could put you down. Let them see a steely you who is un-put-down-able. You can even act like royalty. It will keep them bemused but you are in pursuit of happiness and achieving contentment even in your situation - situation they would not know how to handle in their own time except they come to you for help. It is then you’ll understand the beauty of the experience you have acquired not looking down on yourself when things went rough on you. Of course they’ll be shocked by your audacity and say all unfavourable sorts about you. The one thing they will surely say to your hearing is the fact that you are pretending to be having things going for you as they use to whereas you are only being too proud to let it show. Yes! Don’t let anybody read your mind’s construction on your face, in your words and actions. Remember, you are a man/woman of steel. You are sufferable but you will not remain down forever. And now, let me go spiritual. Everything happening in your life is divine-designed except those ones we brought on ourselves. Huh? So there are rooms for carefulness here.
You will learn to see the good side of life always so you will not loose the fight to your daily challenges. Also, you will remain focused as you explore every opportunity that comes your way as you work towards getting your life back. And mind you, one slip might be very dangerous, as it would mar you for the rest of your life.
The most important character trait you must be conscious of and eschew is pride. Now you will say I’ve contradicted my admonition to act like the best thing to have happened to humanity. No! Far from that! A cliché says pride goes before the fall whereas my teaching here is saying you must not loose your dignity - your sense of self worth when things go wrong. Always have it at the back of your mind that things can always get better. It is not about you looking down on people and feeling like no one is as good as you are. Do away with arrogance and pride and then you have shown the world you are a well-heeled intellectual with lots of wisdom going for you.
Now, put on that your most expensive wear and go out and don’t you dare turn yourself into a recluse – a social leper. You deserve more from life to let your challenges take you with them. So look them and your mockers in the face and tell them your best is yet to be celebrated.
I want you to know that you are on sabbatical and you’ll soon be all that you have always wanted to be. Now get up and show the world some smiles and find out your true friends. Cheers!

Be The Master Of Your Decisions

Have the final say in your decisions. Once you have prayed about them, seek advise but make sure you carry to the letter your own decision and not another person's advice.

Need I say more? Use your prayer technique and you'll be properly directed and you'll see the difference between listening to God and to human beings.
